New Jersey, which leads the division by one game over Boston, just completed a six-game homestand with a 3-3 mark. On Wednesday the Nets posted a 108-95 win over the Milwaukee Bucks at Continental Airlines Arena.
Vince Carter had 36 points, including six three-pointers, and also added nine assists to lead New Jersey. He had a 37-point performance on Monday versus Memphis when he drained a franchise-best nine treys.
Jason Kidd notched his second straight triple-double and the 80th of his career with 10 points, 10 assists and 10 rebounds. Kidd passed Wilt Chamberlain (78) for third place on the all-time triple-double list on Monday with 12 points, 10 rebounds and 13 assists.
After the Nets pay a visit to Toronto, they will return home for four games versus Detroit, Golden State, Cleveland and the Los Angeles Lakers. New Jersey is 6-7 at home this season and 3-5 away from Continental Airlines Arena.
Meanwhile, the Raptors ended a four-game losing streak with Wednesday’s 91-84 triumph over the Orlando Magic.
No. 1 overall draft pick Andrea Bargnani had the best game of his young career with 23 points, while shooting 8-of-16 from the floor, including 5-of-8 from beyond the arc. He also pulled down six rebounds for the Raptors, who are 1 1/2 games out of first place in the Atlantic Division.
Toronto will play its next two games at home versus New Jersey and Golden State, and is 5-3 at the Air Canada Centre this season.
The Nets defeated the Raptors, 102-92, on November 1 this season at New Jersey and have won three straight, five of six and eight of the last 11 meetings.
