New faces in Golden State

(Basketball News) - The Golden State Warriors made a roster-changing trade with the hopes that their revamped lineup can get the franchise back to the playoffs for the first time since 1994.

The Warriors acquired Stephen Jackson, Al Harrington, Sarunas Jasikevicius and Josh Powell from the Indiana Pacers last week for Troy Murphy, Mike Dunleavy Jr., Ike Diogu and Keith McLeod.

The New Jersey Nets play the second of a five-game road trip when they visit the Warriors on Wednesday at ORACLE Arena. It is the second meeting of the season between the squads. On December 18th, Jason Kidd ended with 10 points, 11 rebounds and 12 assists as the Nets rallied for a 105-97 win over Golden State at Continental Airlines Arena.

New Jersey has lost four of its last six at Golden State. The Nets have won two in a row in this series.

Golden State tries to put the brakes on a three-game losing streak. Kobe Bryant poured in 42 points on 11-for-22 from the floor, as Pacific Division rivals battled with the Los Angeles Lakers holding off the new-look Warriors, 108-103, at the Staples Center.

Harrington scored 30 points in the loss to the Lakers for the Warriors, who have lost six of their last seven games overall. Monta Ellis scored 16 points off the bench, while Mickael Pietrus had 14 points and 14 boards in defeat.

The Warriors are 15-8 at home this season. They will host Emeka Okafor and the Charlotte Bobcats on Saturday. It will be the first of two meetings between the clubs this season. Golden State. The Warriors will visit Charlotte on February 3rd.

Harrington is averaging 22.0 points and 6.5 rebounds in two games with the Warriors, while Jackson has registered 21.0 points, 5.0 boards and 4.0 assists in two contests for Golden State.
