New Jack City: Blazers ink 22nd overall pick 07.14.2005
|
The 22-year-old Jack, a product of Georgia Tech, was originally selected with the 22nd overall pick by the Denver Nuggets in last month’s NBA Draft. He was then traded to Portland for the rights to first-round pick Linas Kleiza and second-rounder Ricky Sanchez.
In three seasons at Georgia Tech, Jack averaged 12.5 points and 5.4 assists per game. He also became only the sixth player in school history to reach both 1,000 points and 500 assists.
Portland also announced that the option on forward Travis Outlaw has been exercised and his contract now runs through the 2006-07 campaign. Outlaw was a first-round pick two years ago. This past season, Outlaw averaged 5.4 points per game.
