(Basketball News) - The New Jersey Nets lost to the Miami Heat, 96-84, on Wednesday in the regular-season finale for both teams at AmericanAirlines Arena.
Richard Jefferson paced New Jersey with 18 points. Rodney Rogers chipped in 13 points and Zoran Planinic had 12 for the Nets, who concluded their regular season with a 47-35 mark.
New Jersey captured the Atlantic Division title and earned the second seed in the Eastern Conference. The Nets will face the Knicks in the opening round of the playoffs.
The Nets and Knicks will play the first game of the best-of-seven series on Saturday at Continental Airlines Arena.
