(Basketball News) - Richard Jefferson scored 20 points and handed out 12 assists as the New Jersey Nets rolled to a 106-89 victory over the Atlanta Hawks on Sunday at the Meadowlands.
New Jersey, owners of a three-game win streak, received double-digit outputs from seven players including all five starters. Kerry Kittles netted 16 points while Lucious Harris added 14.
Already with their best two players sidelined in Jason Kidd and Kenyon Martin, the Nets’ injury bug apparently bit Harris. Starting in Kidd’s place, Harris suffered bruised ribs and did not play in the fourth quarter.
However, X-rays taken after the game were negative and Harris is not expected to miss any time.
New Jersey, which will be play the third leg of a four-game homestand on Tuesday against Milwaukee, has won 14 of its last 18 at home and is 26-12 in its building this season.
The Nets have dropped two of three to the Bucks this season, but have won five of the last nine meetings. New Jersey has also won four of its last five in the Garden State against Milwaukee.
New Jersey is 10-3 in Tuesday games this season.
