(Basketball News) - The New Jersey Nets fell to the New York Knicks, 87-79, on Tuesday at the Continental Airlines Arena.
Richard Jefferson netted a team-high 21 points with 10 boards for Nets, who had a brief two-game winning streak snapped. Eric Williams added 21 and Jason Kidd collected 22.
The Nets went 15:03 between the third and fourth quarter before hitting their first field goal. It did not come until the 3:02 mark of the fourth on a Kidd jumper. New York snapped a seven-game losing streak at New Jersey.
Kidd is averaging 10.4 points, 4.2 rebounds and three assists in the five games he has played in since returning from a knee injury.
New Jersey is off until Friday when it visits Pau Gasol and the Memphis Grizzlies. Last season, The Grizzlies swept the two meetings between the clubs.
