|
(Basketball News) - A pair of teams looking for consecutive wins battle tonight in New Jersey, as Jason Kidd and the Nets run with LeBron James and the Cleveland Cavaliers at Continental Airlines Arena.
The Nets, who will once again be without recently acquired Vince Carter due to an Achilles injury, snapped a three-game losing streak on Tuesday with a 94-91 win at Charlotte. Carter isn’t expected to debut with the Nets until Dec. 27 at Detroit.
Richard Jefferson paced the Nets with 28 points in the winning effort. Rodney Buford tacked on 16 points, Nenad Krstic chipped in 13 points and 12 rebounds, and Jacque Vaughn registered 10 points. Kidd added 12 assists and nine points in the victory.
Krstic was tossed after receiving a technical foul midway through the third quarter when he elbowed Gerald Wallace after pulling down a rebound.
New Jersey shot 45.5 percent from the field, including 6-of-12 (.500) from three-point range. The Nets drained 28-of-40 (.700) from the charity stripe.
The Nets, who are playing their lone home game in the midst of five road contests, are 5-7 at Continental Airlines Arena this season.
The Cavs have won two straight in this series on the heels of a two-game series losing streak.
