(Basketball News) - The New Jersey Nets lost to the Miami Heat, 104-95, on Sunday at AmericanAirlines Arena.
Richard Jefferson netted 25 points and Jason Kidd scored 13 points and dished out seven assists for the Nets, who fell for the first time in three games. Kenyon Martin missed the game for New Jersey with an ankle injury.
New Jersey committed 16 turnovers and lost the battle on the glass, 36-26.
Jefferson has scored 20 or more points in six straight games. He has averaged 24.7 points in that span.
Kidd has averaged 13 points, 7.5 rebounds and 10 assists in his last two games.
The Nets are off until Tuesday when they host the Sacramento Kings. It will be the second and final meeting of the season between the two teams. Earlier this season, Sacramento beat New Jersey, 105-92, on November 30, 2003 at ARCO Arena.
