(Basketball News) - The New Jersey Nets fell to the Boston Celtics, 84-80, on Monday at the FleetCenter.
Richard Jefferson netted a game-high 24 points and pulled down eight boards for the Nets, who lost their third straight. Rodney Rogers recorded a double- double with 16 points and 15 rebounds.
Lucious Harris scored 18 points and Kerry Kittles added 10 for the Nets, while Jason Collins pulled down 11 rebounds.
New Jersey is 12 games behind the Indiana Pacers for the top spot in the Eastern Conference.
The Nets are off until Wednesday when they visit the Washington Wizards. It will be the fourth and final meeting of the season between the two squads. New Jersey is 3-0 against the Wizards.
Jefferson has scored at least 19 points in 14 straight games. He has averaged 24.3 points in that span.
