=== New Jersey Nets Team Report - November 19 ===

(Basketball News) - The Nets fell at home to the New Orleans Hornets, 88-85, on Tuesday.

Richard Jefferson led New Jersey with 16 points in the losing effort. Kerry Kittles and Brian Scalabrine each contributed 14 as the Nets had a two-game winning streak come to an end.

The Hornets led by just one until Baron Davis was fouled after connecting on a tough driving lay-in with 2:40 left in the game. He then hit the free throw to expand New Orleans’ lead to 85-81.

After Jefferson’s basket on the other end of the floor made it a one possession game, David Wesley drilled a three from the corner with two minutes to go, putting the Hornets ahead 88-83.

Kittles was then fouled and hit both of his attempts from the line to reduce the margin to just three. Darrell Armstrong — an almost 90 percent free throw shooter — had a chance to ice the game from the charity stripe for the Hornets, but missed both of his attempts with 14 seconds remaining.

Kittles and Jefferson each had a chance to tie the game with a shot from behind the arc. Both shots, though, missed badly and allowed New Orleans to escape with the victory.

Jason Kidd hit just 3-of-10 shots for six points in the contest.

New Jersey has not won consecutive games at home this season. They are just 2-4 at Continental Airlines Arena. Last season the Nets did not lose their fourth game at home until February 23.

The Nets are off until Saturday when they host Vince Carter and the Toronto Raptors.
