(Basketball News) - The New Jersey Nets try to avoid their eighth consecutive loss this evening when they continue their four-game road trip against the Seattle SuperSonics at KeyArena.
New Jersey’s latest loss came on Thursday, as it found itself on the losing end of a 101-88 decision against the Los Angeles Clippers at the Staples Center.
Richard Jefferson had 24 points and six rebounds for the Nets, who are in the midst of their worst slide since losing seven in a row from January 23- February 2, 2001.
Travis Best poured in 16 points off the bench in the loss for New Jersey, which is a half-game back of Chicago and New Orleans for the worst record in the league.
The Nets, which will close their trek against Portland, is a dismal 1-2 away from home this season.
The Sonics defeated the Nets earlier in the season, but has dropped four of the last seven meetings in the series. New Jersey, though, has dropped 13 of its last 15 in the Emerald City.
