(Basketball News) - The New Jersey Nets try for their second straight win, as they host the Phoenix Suns tonight at Continental Airlines Arena.
On Friday, Richard Jefferson scored 26 points, grabbed a career-high 21 rebounds and handed out nine assists, as New Jersey held off the Chicago Bulls in double overtime, 111-106, at the United Center.
Alonzo Mourning added 17 points and Jason Collins chipped in 16 for the Nets, who improved to 1-1 after opening their season with a 100-77 loss to Miami. The Nets went 31-of-35 from the foul line and set a franchise record by making their first 24 from the charity stripe in the win over the Bulls.
In 2003-04, the teams splits a pair of games as each squad was victorious on its homecourt. Overall, the Nets have won four of the last seven contests in this series. Phoenix has lost four straight and six of its last seven at New Jersey.
