=== New Orleans Hornets Team Report - February 26 ===

(Basketball News) - Baron Davis finished with 26 points and nine assists to lead the New Orleans Hornets to a 99-93 win over the Los Angeles Clippers on Wednesday.

Jamaal Magloire contributed 21 points and 14 rebounds for the Hornets, who snapped a two-game skid. Jamal Mashburn added 20 points in the win.

P.J. Brown notched 14 points and 12 boards for New Orleans, which used a 12-2 burst early in the third quarter to overcome a 53-50 deficit. A three-point play by Davis with 6:24 left in the quarter put the team ahead 62-55.

Los Angeles, which pulled within 62-61 on a dunk by Chris Wilcox with 5:07 to go in the third, trailed 73-71 at the end of the quarter. In the fourth period, the Clippers stayed close pulling within 84-83 on a jumper by Corey Maggette with 3:58 to play. New Orleans, though, responded by scoring nine of the next 11 points overall. Brown posted four of the points, including a turnaround jumper with 1:24 to go, that put the team ahead 93-85.

Two foul shots by Maggette with 17.7 seconds left pulled Los Angeles within 95-93, but it would not get any closer.

The Hornets earned their fourth straight win at home.

The All-star Magloire is averaging 14.7 points and 9.6 rebounds in his last 10 games.

New Orleans is off until Friday when it hosts Central Division rival Indiana. It will be the fourth and final meeting of the season between the two teams. The Hornets are 1-2 against the Pacers.
