=== New Orleans Hornets Team Report - January 22 ===

(Basketball News) - The New Orleans Hornets fell to the Philadelphia 76ers, 92-86, on Wednesday in fron of their home crowd.

Darrell Armstrong scored a season-high 29 points for the Hornets, who have lost seven of their last nine games. Robert Traylor had 13 points and 10 boards in the loss.

"He (Armstrong) was outstanding," said Hornets coach Tim Floyd. "He really played with a lot of heart and was very aggressive offensively. He played with a lot of quickness in the first half. He just played with a lot of heart tonight and made some big shots for us."

Hornets guard Baron Davis, who scored 37 points against the Sixers earlier this season, missed the game after injuring his left ankle on Monday against Minnesota.

Jamaal Magloire scored 17 points for the Hornets, who played with the league minimum eight players. New Orleans also played without rookie forward David West, who missed his fifth consecutive game with a sore knee. Center Sean Rooks also was unable to play because of an ankle injury, although he was in uniform. Forward Jamal Mashburn (knee) and guards David Wesley (toe) and Courtney Alexander (Achilles) are on the injured list.

The Hornets are off until Friday when they host rookie phenom Carmelo Anthony and the Denver Nuggets.
