(Basketball News) - The New Orleans Hornets visit the Houston Rockets on Wednesday at New Orleans Arena. Houston defeated the Hornets, 89-81, on December 7th at the Toyota Center and has won four straight meetings in this series.
New Orleans actually patched together a winning streak last week, but came back to its losing ways on Sunday with a 97-68 loss at Miami. The Heat utilized five players scoring in double figures to topple the lowly Hornets.
Dan Dickau paced the Hornets, whose 25 first-half points marked the lowest output in franchise history for the opening 24 minutes, with 16 points. Rodney Rogers finished with 10 for New Orleans, which had won two straight games only one other time this season.
The Hornets showed why they own the NBA’s worst record, as they shot a woeful 23 percent (8-of-35) before intermission and fell behind by 31 points at the break.
Dickau has scored in double-digits in four straight games. He is averaging 19 points and 5.5 assists in that span. New Orleans forward Lee Nailon is averaging 19.2 points and six rebounds in his last 10 contests.
The Hornets, who are 25 games behind San Antonio in the Southwest Division standings, are scheduled to host Allen Iverson and the Philadelphia 76ers on Friday and will then travel to San Antonio to face Tim Duncan and the Spurs on Saturday.
