(Basketball News) - Despite playing without the services of forwards Jamal Mashburn and P.J. Brown, the Hornets recorded a dominating 104-80 win over the Philadelphia 76ers at New Orleans Arena on Wednesday night.
Baron Davis registered 20 points and eight assists, while Jamaal Magloire added 19 points and 12 rebounds. Robert Traylor tallied 18 points and 10 boards in the contest, and David West added 15 points and nine rebounds.
David Wesley rounded out the Hornets’ double-digit scorers with 13 points in the contest. The Hornets dominated the 76ers on the boards, 45-30, in the winning effort.
The Hornets hit 43 percent from the field, including 6-of-18 from three-point range. New Orleans took over in the second half, outscoring the Sixers, 53-27, down the stretch.
New Orleans has still won just four of its last 10 games, as it sits fourth in the Eastern Conference playoff picture. The Hornets are 1 1/2 contests ahead of fifth place Milwaukee and seven games behind Detroit for third.
The Hornets have been a different team at home, winning three straight while dropping seven in a row on the road. New Orleans continues its four-game homestand Friday against Seattle. The Hornets have yet to face the SuperSonics this season.
The Hornets have won three of their last four meetings with the Sonics since the start of the 2001-02 season.
