(Basketball News) - The New York Knicks lost to the Houston Rockets, 86-71, on Wednesday at the Toyota Center.
Allan Houston and Anfernee Hardaway each scored 12 points for New York, which lost for just the second time in seven games and for the first time under new coach Lenny Wilkens (3-1).
"We wanted to be aggressive," Wilkens said. "Shut down the backcourt, but Mo Taylor and Yao Ming killed us. We had good energy but we got anxious and we never got Allan (Houston) off the nark. I was surprised to see us so anxious."
Before the game, the Knicks signed center Bruno Sundov to a 10-day contract and placed forward Mike Sweetney on the injured list. Sundov did not play against Houston.
New York has lost five of its last seven games in Houston.
Hardaway scored in double digits for the first time in four contests.
The Knicks are off until Friday when they visit the Atlanta Hawks.
