=== New York Knicks Team Report - January 28 ===

(Basketball News) - The New York Knicks dropped their second straight game and recorded a season-low point total in a 77-67 loss the San Antonio Spurs at Madison Square Garden.

Stephon Marbury paced the Knicks with 19 points and Kurt Thomas added 11 for New York, which has dropped three of its last four contests. Allan Houston, playing with a sore knee, struggled from the field, making just 2-of-13 shots for just seven points.

Kurt Thomas had 11 points and 12 rebounds while Doleac made three of four shots before fouling out in 24 minutes.

Heading into the final stanza the Spurs held a 55-49 margin.

San Antonio traded baskets with New York for most of the stanza and held a six-point lead at 71-65 with under three minutes left to play. Tony Parker then drained a clutch jumper to push the lead to 73-65.

New York turned the ball over on its ensuing possession and Tim Duncan followed with a bank shot with one minute to play, virtually sealing the win.

On the injury front for the Knicks Marbury jammed the three middle fingers on his left hand in the second half and forward Keith Van Horn injured his left shoulder. Neither injury is considered serious, though.

New York returns to action on Friday against the Boston Celtics.
