Nowitzki, Mavericks top Trail Blazers 11.13.2006

Jason Terry had 24 points and Jerry Stackhouse added 16 points and nine assists for the Mavericks, who have won their last two games after starting the season with four consecutive losses.
Jarrett Jack had 20 points and 10 assists for his first career double-double and Zach Randolph added 20 points and nine rebounds for the Trail Blazers, who had a two-game winning streak stopped.
The Mavericks used a 10-0 run in the first period as the Trail Blazers failed to make a basket for almost six minutes. Dallas led, 24-13, going into the second quarter.
Portland got back into the game in the second quarter. A 13-2 run was capped off on a reverse layup by Martell Webster to make it a 36-35 game with 3:33 left until the half.
Dallas, though, took a 44-41 lead heading into the third quarter.
Portland briefly grabbed the lead when Webster hit a three-pointer to make it 46-44 less than a minute into the third. However, Dallas ripped off a huge 19-5 run with Nowitzki scoring the last five points, including a trey that gave Dallas a 63-51 advantage with under six minutes left in the third.
The Mavericks took a 77-64 lead into the fourth.
Portland chipped away at the Dallas lead and got to within 86-83 thanks to a turnaround jumper by Randolph with under three minutes to play.
With the score 86-85, Terry was fouled as he put in a layup and made the free throw for an 89-85 advantage. After Juan Dixon missed a jumper on the other end, Stackhouse put in a layup for a 91-85 lead with 1:36 to play and the Mavs held on for the victory.

Dallas hosts Chicago on Tuesday...Dallas has won 12 of the last 13 meetings in the series, including 11 in a row. The Trail Blazers haven’t beaten the Mavericks since a 97-88 decision at the Rose Garden on December 23, 2003...Portland starts a four-game road trip in Minnesota for a contest on Tuesday...Webster finished the game with eight points.
