Southwest Division rivals battle on Tuesday, as the Mavericks and the Houston Rockets put their four-game winning streaks on the line at American Airlines Center. On November 4th, Yao Ming poured in 36 points as the Rockets routed the Mavericks, 107-76, at the Toyota Center.
Dallas has won two straight and four of its last five at Houston. The Mavericks have won five in a row in the series.
The Mavericks play the first of a brief two-game homestand against the Rockets. Josh Howard’s layup with under one second remaining on the clock lifted Dallas over the Toronto Raptors, 97-96, on Sunday at Air Canada Centre.
Nowitzki paced Dallas with 38 points and 11 rebounds, while Jason Terry had 17 points in the win for the Mavericks, who have won 17 of their last 18 games overall.
Dallas is 17-3 at home this season. The Mavericks will host Kobe Bryant and the Los Angeles Lakers on Thursday. The teams have split a pair of meetings this season, as both clubs picked up a win at home.
The Mavericks are 17-1 when they score 100 or more points this season.
