(Basketball News) - Orlando dropped a 117-107 decision to the Miami Heat at American Airlines Arena on Sunday evening.
Steve Francis paced the Magic with a game-high 32 points. Cuttino Mobley added 22 and Grant Hill chipped in 20 points for Orlando, which has dropped four of five despite shooting 40-of-78 from the floor.
In a tightly contested fourth quarter, Orlando took a short lived lead, 103-102, on Tony Battie’s jumper at the 5:16 mark.
However, the Heat regained the lead for good as Jones’ three-pointer sparked a 13-0 burst to put the game away. Keyon Dooling’s trey from the top of the key capped the spurt, pushing the Heat advantage to 115-103 with 1:33 left, effectively putting away the game.
The Magic never recovered en route to the 10-point loss.
Orlando has now dropped three straight in Miami.
The Magic connected on 21-of-27 from the line, while the Heat made good on 23- of-27 for the game.
Orlando has the next two days off before hosting San Antonio on Wednesday night. The Magic have just one game this week.
