(Basketball News) - Allen Iverson poured in a season-high 40 points and handed out 10 assists to lead the Philadelphia 76ers over the Milwaukee Bucks, 107-101, at the Wachovia Center.
Kenny Thomas added 20 points and 17 rebounds for the Sixers, who have won back-to-back games on the heels of a six-game skid. Marc Jackson contributed a season-high 28 points in the victory.
With 1:45 remaining, Jackson scored off an offensive rebound to put Philly ahead 100-98 and it led the rest of the way. Thirteen seconds later, Jackson made a free throw to push the edge to 101-98. Milwaukee’s Desmond Mason, who finished with 21 points, drained a pair from the stripe to cut the deficit to 101-100, but the Bucks could never draw even.
Iverson has tallied at least 40 points 58 times in his nine-year career. Philadelphia forward Corliss Williamson missed the contest due to a left knee injury. Samuel Dalembert netted six points in his second straight start for the Sixers.
Thomas has scored in double-digits in three straight and five of his last six games. He has recorded three double-doubles this season.
The 76ers are off until Tuesday when they host Carmelo Anthony and the Denver Nuggets. Last season, the Nuggets swept the two contests between the teams.
