Rockets lacking fuel, visit Hornets in OK

03.23.2006

(Basketball News) - The Houston Rockets will try to end a six-game losing streak tonight when they visit the Hornets in Oklahoma City.

Houston’s streak reached six games on Tuesday against Dallas. Yao Ming scored 13 points and had 13 rebounds in the 88-72 loss for Houston. Luther Head had a team-high 16 points and Rafer Alston added 13 points in the win.

The Rockets have lost two straight on the road and are 16-17 as the guest this season. They will conclude a brief two-game trip against the Hornets.

Meanwhile, the Hornets ended an eight-game losing streak with Tuesday’s 120-108 win over the Los Angeles Clippers.

Rasual Butler scored a career-high 32 points to lead New Orleans/Oklahoma City, while David West had 21 points and 11 rebounds. Rookie Chris Paul added 21 points and nine assists for the Hornets, who won for the first time this month.

The Hornets are currently ninth in the Western Conference playoff race and own a 20-14 record as the host season.

The Hornets also have won four straight versus Houston, including all three meetings so far this season.

Houston, though, has won five of its last seven at the Hornets.
