Rockets release Barry

Houston, TX (Basketball News) - The Houston Rockets waived guard Jon Barry on Wednesday.

Barry, who missed 28 games this season with foot and calf injuries, was averaging 4.3 points, 1.6 rebounds and 1.3 assists in 20 games.

He was in his second season with Houston after joining the Rockets in a trade with the Atlanta Hawks on Dec. 23, 2004. He played in a total of 73 games with two starts for the Rockets, averaging 6.3 points, 2.3 rebounds and 2.3 assists.

Barry played in 13 previous NBA seasons with Milwaukee, Golden State, Atlanta, the L.A. Lakers, Sacramento, Detroit, Denver and Houston, averaging 5.7 points, 1.8 rebounds and 2.2 assists.
