(Basketball News) - The Sacramento Kings’ Pacific Division title hopes took a bit of a hit on Monday with a 97-89 setback at the hands of the Denver Nuggets at the Pepsi Center.
Peja Stojakovic scored 20 points for the Kings, who suffered their third loss in four games. Chris Webber added 18 points and seven rebounds, as the Kings failed to clinch the top seed in the Western Conference.
Sacramento can still clinch the Pacific Division title and second seed in the Western Conference with a win on Wednesday at Golden State.
The Kings pulled within 89-87 on two foul shots by Anthony Peeler with 3:02 remaining.
But Denver scored eight straight points to pull away. Two foul shots by Rodney White with 15 seconds left put the team ahead 97-87.
