San Antonio has no time for rest on long road trip

The Spurs go for their sixth straight victory when they visit the Golden State Warriors on Thursday at The Arena in Oakland. San Antonio, which will try and match its season-best winning streak with a victory, plays the second of a season-long eight-game road trip.

San Antonio, which won six in a row from November 29th to December 9th, has won five in a row as the visitor. The Spurs have won 11 of their last 14 games at Golden State. The home team has won six of eight and 10 of the last 13 contests in this series, while San Antonio has won four straight and five of the last six meetings.

Tim Duncan scored 14 points and pulled down a game-high 17 rebounds, leading San Antonio to an 86-82 win over the Portland Trail Blazers on Wednesday at the Rose Garden.

Manu Ginobili finished with 22 points, while Tony Parker netted 20 in the win over Portland for the Spurs, who have won nine of their last 10 contests overall.

The Spurs are 15-7 on the road this season. They will also visit Toronto, New Jersey, Indiana, Cleveland and Philadelphia on the current swing. San Antonio defeated the Utah Jazz, 79-70, on Monday at the Delta Center in the opener of the swing.

Duncan, who leads the Spurs in scoring (20.0 ppg) and rebounds (11.6 rpg), has scored in double-digits in all 46 of San Antonio’s games this season. He has collected 34 double-doubles and has logged 30 or more minutes in 40 contests. The Wake Forest product is averaging 17.9 points and 11.3 rebounds in his last 10 outings.

San Antonio is 15-1 when it scores 100 or more points this season.
