=== San Antonio Spurs Team Report - March 8 ===

(Basketball News) - The San Antonio Spurs could be without Tim Duncan on Tuesday when they host the New Jersey Nets at the SBC Center. Duncan suffered a sprained right ankle in Sunday’s 101-94 win over Utah and did not return. His status for Tuesday’s game, and those in the coming days is not known.

San Antonio defeated New Jersey, 101-91, at the Meadowlands on February 11 and has won four straight meetings. The Nets have lost in their last two trips to the SBC Center.

Against the Jazz, Manu Ginobili finished with a game-high 31 points, eight rebounds and seven assists, while Bruce Bowen added 18 points to help lead the win. Tony Parker chipped in with 14 for San Antonio, which won despite losing Duncan at the 8:12 mark of the third quarter. Duncan went up to block a shot, but landed awkwardly on teammate Rasho Nesterovic’s foot.

The Spurs have won 12 of their last 15 games overall, and 16 of their last 20 at the SBC Center. San Antonio currently leads the NBA with a 46-13 record, which puts them 1/2 game ahead of Phoenix in the Western Conference.

Ginobili has scored in double-digits in 50 of the 57 contests he has played in this season. He is averaging 19.7 points and four rebounds in San Antonio’s six games since the All-Star break.

San Antonio will visit the Suns on Wednesday at America West Arena. The Spurs will then return home for a four-game homestand which will start on Saturday against the Denver Nuggets.

After the Denver game, San Antonio will host the Minnesota Timberwolves and the Charlotte Bobcats.
