San Antonio registered a 98-79 beating of the Clippers at the Staples Center on December 31. The Spurs have won four straight and 13 of their last 14 meetings with the Clippers in San Antonio. San Antonio has taken nine of 11 and 24 of the last 27 meetings overall.
San Antonio has recorded a 20-1 mark at home this season after going 33-8 in its friendly confines last season. The Spurs are also 7-1 versus the Pacific Division and 16-7 against the Western Conference.
The Spurs have won three of their last four, six of eight and 11 of their last 14 contests overall. San Antonio continued its recent success on Monday, tallying a 101-73 victory over the Washington Wizards at the SBC Center. Tony Parker collected 23 points, eight assists and seven rebounds to pace the Spurs to the win.
Brent Barry was 5-for-5 from three-point range and ended with 17 points, as San Antonio made 12-of-16 tries from beyond the arc. Tim Duncan added 11 points and 11 rebounds for the Spurs.
The Spurs were without guard Manu Ginobili, who was forced to sit out with a quadriceps injury. Ginobili is questionable for Wednesday’s contest.
Parker has scored in double-digits in seven straight contests and has netted 20 or more points in six of the games. He is averaging 20.3 points and 7.1 assists in his last seven games.
Duncan has scored in double-digits in all 40 of San Antonio’s games this season. He has registered two straight and 29 double-doubles overall in the 2004-05 campaign.
San Antonio starts a short three-game road trip on Friday against the Phoenix Suns at America West Arena. The Spurs are also scheduled to visit the Sacramento Kings on Sunday and the Portland Trail Blazers on Monday.
