This is the first of two meetings between the clubs this season. The Pistons are scheduled to host the Jazz on January 7, 2006 at The Palace of Auburn Hills.

Detroit has won five of the last seven meetings in this series. The Pistons have lost two straight at Utah.

The Pistons, who conclude a four-game road trip, enter tonight’s game on a six-game winning streak. On Sunday, Chauncey Billups scored 25 points and dished out eight assists, as Detroit continued its best start in franchise history with a 109-101 triumph over the Los Angeles Clippers at the Staples Center. Billups made 4-of-5 three-pointers for Detroit, which went 8-of-12 from beyond the arc. However, the Pistons made just 25-of-45 free throws.

Richard Hamilton added 23 points and All-Star Ben Wallace totaled 13 points and 12 rebounds in the win over the Clippers for Detroit. Rasheed Wallace tallied 10 points and seven rebounds for the Pistons, who have won six in a row versus the Clippers. Detroit took excellent care of the basketball, as it committed an NBA season-low four turnovers.

Detroit is an amazing 10-1 on the road this season. The Pistons return home on Wednesday against the Sacramento Kings and will then host the Chicago Bulls on Friday at The Palace of Auburn Hills.

The Jazz play the fourth contest of a five-game homestand. On Friday, Rashard Lewis had 26 points and Ray Allen added 19 points to lead the Seattle SuperSonics over the Jazz, 106-90, at the Delta Center.

Andrei Kirilenko had 17 points and 11 rebounds in the loss to Seattle for the Jazz, who have dropped five of their last seven games overall. Devin Brown had 14 points and Jarron Collins had 13 points in defeat.

Utah, which will host the Portland Trail Blazers on Wednesday in the finale of the current stand, is 5-4 at home this season.
