Seattle continues to disappoint

03.10.2006

(Basketball News) - The Seattle SuperSonics (23-38) are headed for an early vacation this season. They are 8 1/2 games out of the final playoff spot in the Western Conference with just 21 games left on their schedule.

On Friday, Two of the NBA’s most disappointing teams meet, as the Minnesota Timberwolves visit the SuperSonics at KeyArena. It is the fourth and final meeting of the season between the clubs. In the three previous contests, the Timberwolves beat Seattle twice at the Target Center, while the Sonics ousted Minnesota, 107-102, in overtime on November 4th at KeyArena.

Minnesota has lost two straight after winning its last three at Seattle.

Seattle tries to get back on the winning track as it plays the finale of a five-game homestand against the Timberwolves. The Sonics are 2-2 on the current stand.

On Wednesday, Pau Gasol finished with 21 points, 12 rebounds and 12 assists as the Memphis Grizzlies breezed past the SuperSonics, 99-74, at KeyArena.

Ray Allen ended with 18 points, while Johan Petro scored 11 and had 10 rebounds in the loss to Memphis for the SuperSonics, who have lost four of their last six games overall.

The Sonics are just 14-16 as the host this season. They are 5-5 in their last 10 contests at KeyArena.

Seattle is scheduled to play 11 of its final 21 contests this season at KeyArena.
