(Basketball News) - Ray Allen scored 41 points on 14-of-23 shooting to lead the Seattle SuperSonics over the Los Angeles Clippers, 102-97, at the Key Arena. Rashard Lewis added 15 points for the Sonics, who have won two straight and three of four.
Trailing by five, Seattle reeled off an 11-0 run, during which Allen, Brent Barry and Lewis each hit three-pointers,.that gave the Sonics a 66-60 lead with 5:49 remaining in the third.
Seattle led 74-68 entering the fourth and pushed the lead to 86-75 on a turnaround jumper by Allen with 6:57 to play.
A free throw by Quentin Richardson capped a 6-0 spurt that pulled the Clippers to within 86-81 with 4:15 remaining, but Seattle built up a nine-point lead after a pair of free throws by Allen made it 100-91 with 20 seconds remaining.
Corey Maggette then hit a three-pointer to bring Los Angeles to within five again before Allen sank two more free throws. Maggette hit another three- pointer just before the buzzer to account for the final margin.
Allen, who went 6-for-10 from three-point range in the contest, scored 17 of his points in the fourth quarter. .
Antonio Daniels chipped in with 14 points, six rebounds and four assists off the bench for the Sonics, while Barry finished with 10 points and seven assists.
Seattle returns to action on Tuesday against the Dallas Mavericks.
