Shaquille O’Neal Tears off Net, Delays Game

Shaquille O’Neal shredded a net on a basket while being fouled on a shot attempt on Saturday night, causing a nine-minute delay in the second quarter of the Phoenix Suns’ game with the New Jersey Nets.

O’Neal, who has torn down a basket or two while dunking in his career, grabbed the bottom of the net and pulled most of it off its hooks after being fouled by DeSagana Diop with 9:11 left before halftime. [ESPN]
