Sixers sign first-round pick Iguodala 07.2.2004

Philadelphia, PA (Basketball News) - The Philadelphia 76ers signed their first- round draft pick, guard Andre Iguodala, to a contract on Friday. As per club policy, terms were not disclosed.
Iguodala was the ninth overall selection in the 2004 NBA Draft. He played two seasons at Arizona and was an All-Pac 10 honoree during his sophomore campaign when he averaged 12.9 points, 8.4 boards and 4.9 assists per game.
Iguodala also posted a school-record three triple-doubles this past season and became the only player in program history to lead the team in rebounds (253), assists (147) and steals (48) in the same year.
With the signing of Iguodala, Philadelphia became the first team to ink its first-round pick. In other news, the 76ers completed their coaching staff with the hiring of Joe Gallagher.
Gallagher joins the club as an assistant after serving in the same capacity with the Boston Celtics the last two seasons. He spent more than one campaign with new Philadelphia head coach Jim O’Brien.
