Sixers try to get back on winning track in Toronto

11.8.2006

(Basketball News) - The Philadelphia 76ers will try to get back on the winning track tonight when they visit the Toronto Raptors at the Air Canada Centre.

After opening the season with three straight wins over Atlanta, Orlando and Miami, the Sixers dropped a 97-86 decision to the Indiana Pacers on Tuesday night at Conseco Fieldhouse.

Allen Iverson led the way with a game-high 20 points for the Sixers, but shot just 8-of-22 from the field. Willie Green and Kyle Korver both ended with 14 points for Philadelphia, which was outrebounded, 52-32.

The Sixers have a good chance to get back in the win column this evening against the Raptors, who have lost six of the last eight meetings. Philadelphia has won 10 of 15 and 11 of the last 17 overall meetings, while winning two straight, three of four and seven of the last nine up north.

Toronto has dropped two of its first three games of the season, including Sunday’s 103-94 home loss to the San Antonio Spurs.

Chris Bosh led Toronto with 19 points and 17 rebounds, while T.J. Ford and Morris Peterson both added 15 points. The Raptors were attempting to climb over the .500 mark for the first time since having a 4-3 record on November 13, 2004.

The Raptors will need to improve on their field goal percentage, as they made just 42.1 percent from the field versus San Antonio.
