Orlando plays the finale of a short two-game road trip. Vince Carter poured in a game-high 27 points and pulled down five rebounds as New Jersey put forth a dominating second half en route to a 101-94 defeat of the Magic on Saturday at Continental Airlines Arena.
Hedo Turkoglu led Orlando with 24 points and eight boards, while rookie J.J. Redick scored 13 points off the bench in defeat. Jameer Nelson and Travis Diener both ended with 11 points for the Magic, who have dropped five in a row after a five-game winning streak. Dwight Howard was held to a season-low one point in defeat.
The Magic are 8-12 on the road this season.
Cleveland plays the first of a two-game homestand. LeBron James posted 32 points and seven rebounds, as the Cavaliers held off the new-look Golden State Warriors, 106-104, in overtime on Saturday at ORACLE Arena.
Larry Hughes scored 15 points and Zydrunas Ilgauskas had 14 points and 11 rebounds in the loss to Golden State for the Cavaliers, who snapped a three- game losing streak. Aleksandar Pavlovic contributed 13 points and Anderson Varejao had 12 points and 12 boards off the bench.
The Cavaliers are an impressive 15-3 at home this season. They will host the Philadelphia 76ers in the first of a home-and-home set on Wednesday at Quicken Loans Arena.
This is the third meeting of the campaign between the clubs. Both teams picked up a home victory in the previous two contests.
Orlando has lost six in a row at Cleveland.
