Sonics host Grizzlies at KeyArena

11.21.2003

Seattle, WA (Basketball News) - Two teams will try to bounce back from losses tonight as the surprising Seattle SuperSonics welcome the Memphis Grizzlies to KeyArena.

The SuperSonics were dealt just their third loss of the season Tuesday night, as they fell to the Miami Heat, 105-98, in front of their home crowd.

Ronald Murray recorded a career-high 31 points for Seattle, which has lost two of its last three games and dropped to 6-3 on the year. Rashard Lewis added 16 points in a losing effort.

Seattle is 15-0 at home against the Grizzlies and only two of those games have been decided by fewer than five points. The Sonics are 2-2 as the host this season.

The Grizzlies had their three-game winning streak halted on Wednesday, as they fell to the Detroit Pistons, 99-92, at The Pyramid.

Mike Miller and Lorenzen Wright each scored 18 points in the losing effort for Memphis, which had a three-game win streak come to an end. Pau Gasol had 13 points and 12 boards in the loss to Detroit.

Memphis starts a three-game road trip tonight. After playing the Sonics, the Grizzlies will head to Los Angeles for a game on Sunday with the Lakers and will finish up the swing on Tuesday in Sacramento.

The Grizzlies are 2-3 on the road this season.

In 2002-03, Seattle won three of the four contests between the two teams.

Overall, the SuperSonics have won three straight and 10 of the last 11 meetings between the two squads.

The Sonics are a dominant 27-4 all-time in the series.
