Lewis injured the tendon sheath on the back of his hand in the first quarter of Wednesday’s 103-95 loss against the Dallas Mavericks. Lewis got his hand caught in the net trying to block a shot by the Mavericks’ Erick Dampier.
X-rays taken after the game were negative, but an MRI exam performed Thursday revealed the damage.
Lewis has started all 27 games for Seattle this season and is averaging 21.9 points and 6.8 rebounds. He is also tied for the team lead in blocks with 18, while shooting 40.3 percent from the three-point line and a career-best 90.1 percent from the free-throw line.
In eight-plus seasons with Seattle, Lewis is averaging 16.3 points and 5.8 rebounds per game in 584 contests.
