Ray Allen added 16 points, 10 boards and six assists for Seattle, which snapped a two-game losing streak. Chris Wilcox and Damien Wilkins scored 10 apiece for the Sonics, who won their third straight home game.
Travis Outlaw scored 14 points and LaMarcus Aldridge added 12 for Portland, which lost its second straight game
Seattle pulled away early with an 8-0 run, capped by a Wilcox dunk to open the game. Portland did not score until the 7:41 mark and made just two buckets in the first nine minutes.
Seattle led 20-11 after the first quarter and 43-35 at the intermission after an evenly played second quarter.
The Sonics used a 17-4 run, started by an Allen triple, to open a 64-43 lead with 4:48 left in the third period. Portland never threatened thereafter.
Allen and Lewis put on a show scoring 20 of the Sonics 30 points in the third quarter.
Game Notes
Seattle retired Spencer Haywood’s No. 24 at halftime...Portland’s Joel Przybilla missed the game with a sore knee...Portland’s Brandon Roy shot just 3-of-13 and had six points in his return to his hometown, where he was a prep and college star.
