Spurs attempt to extend winning streak in Toronto

On Thursday, Tony Parker scored a game-high 23 points and dished out six assists to help lead San Antonio to an 89-86 victory over the Golden State Warriors at The Arena in Oakland.

Tim Duncan finished with 16 points while pulling down 11 rebounds in the win. The All-Star forward also netted the last five points of the game for the Spurs, who picked up their 10th win in their last 11 tries.

Manu Ginobili donated 18 points and five assists in the win, San Antonio’s sixth straight on the road. The team record is eight straight.

On the injury front, Duncan is questionable after missing practice on Tuesday with the flu, while Robert Horry should be able to go after sitting out eight of the past nine games because of a lower abdominal strain.

However, guard Nick Van Exel(elbow) and Fabricio Oberto (ankle) are expected to miss tonight’s affair, but should return at some point on the trip.

The Spurs, who will close their trek with stops in New Jersey, Indiana, Cleveland and Philadelphia, are 16-7 away from home this season.

Toronto, meanwhile, comes in on a losing note after dropping a 115-113 overtime decision at home on Sunday to the Los Angeles Clippers.

Chris Bosh led the Raptors, who lost for the first time in four games, with 29 points and 16 boards. Morris Peterson added 25 points while Mike James had 20 points, five rebounds and seven assists in the loss.

Toronto should get a boost tonight, as center Antonio Davis finally joined the team on Tuesday after getting traded by the New York Knicks on Friday for Jalen Rose.

The Raptors, who will be concluding a five-game homestand tonight, are 9-15 in their arena this season.

San Antonio defeated the Raps earlier in the season and has won six of seven and eight of the last 10 meetings. The Spurs have also three of their last five north of the border.
