Suns activate veteran Scott Williams

11.18.2003

Phoenix, AZ (Basketball News) - The Phoenix Suns activated veteran center Scott Williams from the injured list Tuesday.

The 35-year-old Williams has yet to play this season because of a thumb injury. He will be in uniform for tonight’s home game against the Chicago Bulls, one of his former teams.

Williams re-signed in July after posting averages of 4.0 points and 2.8 rebounds in 69 games with the Suns last season, his first in Phoenix.

A former North Carolina Tar Heel, Williams is playing in his 14th season in the NBA. During his career, he has played for the Bulls, Philadelphia 76ers, Milwaukee Bucks and Denver Nuggets. Williams has averaged 5.3 points and 4.9 rebounds in 684 career games.

To create a roster spot for Williams, the Suns placed center Cezary Trybanski on the injured list with back spasms.
