(Basketball News) - The Toronto Raptors were handed their second consecutive loss on Sunday with a 114-109 setback at the hands of the Toronto Raptors at the Air Canada Centre.
Jalen Rose scored 29 points to lead the Raptors, who have lost three of their last four games. Vince Carter contributed 26 points in a losing effort.
Larry Hughes, who tied the game with just 8/10ths of a second left in the fourth quarter, gave the Wizards a 106-102 lead with a pair of free throws with 3:30 left in overtime.
A driving layup by Arenas put Washington in control, 108-102, with just under three minutes to go.
Donyell Marshall later had a chance to tie the game, but missed from three- point range with 10 seconds left and Jarvis Hayes made a pair of free throws with 6.2 seconds remaining to seal the win.
The Raptors led most of the way and took their biggest lead, 86-76, with 6:29 left in the fourth quarter. Washington, however, outscored Toronto, 24-14, the rest of the way to force overtime.
Rafer Alston fouled Hughes, who hit two free throws with under one second left to send the contest into the extra session.
The Raptors have a three-pointer in 465 straight games, currently the best streak in the league.
Toronto returns to action on Tuesday versus the Miami Heat.
