Webber sidelined with shoulder injury

03.31.2005

Philadelphia, PA (Basketball News) - Philadelphia 76ers forward Chris Webber is expected to miss the next 7-10 days with a sprained left shoulder.

Webber hurt the shoulder during the third quarter of Wednesday’s loss at Phoenix when he collided with the Suns’ Jake Voskuhl. Webber had tweaked a knee injury in the first half and was told by the team doctor to sit out the rest of the contest.

The 32-year-old Webber has started 16 games for Philadelphia since being acquired from Sacramento in a deal just prior to the trade deadline. In addition to Webber, the 76ers obtained forwards Michael Bradley and Matt Barnes in exchange for forwards Kenny Thomas, Corliss Williamson and Brian Skinner.

Webber is averaging 15.8 points and 7.8 rebounds per contest with Philadelphia after he posted averages of 21.3 points and 9.7 boards in 46 games for the Kings.
