"Josh experienced some discomfort in his shoulder during our recent summer league in Orlando," said Nets president Rod Thorn. "A subsequent MRI revealed the tear, and all parties involved felt that surgery was the most prudent option at this juncture. We expect him to make a full recovery and to be a contributor to the team during the season."
The 23rd overall pick in the recent 2006 NBA Draft, Boone is expected to be in a sling for two weeks before he will begin his rehabilitation.
