Nets sign former first round pick Krstic

07.27.2004

East Rutherford, NJ (Basketball News) - The New Jersey Nets signed 2002 first round draft choice Nenad Krstic of Serbia-Montenegro, the team announced Tuesday.

Krstic, a 7-foot center/forward, was selected by New Jersey with the 24th overall pick two years ago and has been developing his game overseas in Europe since.

"We are very pleased to add Nenad to our roster," said Nets CEO Rod Thorn. "He is a developing talent who should add depth to our frontcourt rotation."

Krstic averaged 16.9 points and 6.6 rebounds in 14 games in the YUBA League and 13.4 points and 2.9 boards in nine Euro League Games.
