(Basketball News) - The New Jersey Nets lost to the Indiana Pacers, 96-83, on Thursday at Continental Airlines Arena.
Newly acquired Vince Carter made his home debut in New Jersey and netted 25 points for the Nets, who fell for the second time in five outings. Richard Jefferson and Rodney Buford each scored 20 points, while Jason Kidd collected 11 rebounds and 10 assists in the losing effort.
The Nets only shot 38 percent from the floor and turned the ball over 19 times.
Carter has score 23 or more points in his three games with New Jersey. He is averaging 24.3 points, six rebounds and 3.3 assists as a Net.
New Jersey is off until Saturday when it visits the New York Knicks at Madison Square Garden. Earlier this season, the Knicks beat the Nets, 87-79, at the Meadowlands.
