New Jersey Nets Team Report - January 16 01.16.2004
|
(Basketball News) - The New Jersey Nets fell to the Milwaukee Bucks, 86-83, on Thursday at the Bradley Center.
Kenyon Martin returned from a two-game suspension to post game-highs in points (24) and rebounds (10). Aaron Williams had 13 points, and while Jason Kidd collected nine rebounds and eight assists, he scored just six points on 3- of-14 shooting, and the Nets lost for only the second time in seven games.
Two groups are in conversations with the New Jersey Nets about purchasing the franchise, two months after the initial round of bids. A group led by developer Charles Kushner would keep the Nets in North Jersey, while Bruce Ratner’s group aims to move the team to Brooklyn, N.Y. Ratner’s group appears to be the top bidder at this juncture.
Kidd had his streak of 14 straight games scoring in double digits halted. He is averaging 21.2 points per game in the last six contests.
The Nets are off until Saturday when they host Jermaine O’Neal and the Indiana Pacers. New Jersey and the Pacers have met twice this season, as each squad took home a victory on the road.
