(Basketball News) - Kenyon Martin collected 28 points and nine rebounds to lift the New Jersey Nets to a 98-97 win over the Denver Nuggets on Wednesday at Continental Airlines Arena.
Richard Jefferson added 26 points for his third-straight 20-plus point game, and Jason Kidd returned to the New Jersey lineup after missing four games with a bone bruise in his left knee. The Nets went 2-2 with Kidd sidelined.
Kidd scored just eight points on 3-of-8 shooting, but dished out 13 assists in 39 minutes, as the Nets continued to alternate wins and losses, as they’ve done for the last nine games.
New Jersey is 22-9 as the host this season. The Nets improved to 25-6 when Kidd has 10 or more assists.
Martin has averaged 22.5 points, 14.5 rebounds and five assists in his last two games.
The Nets are off until Friday when they host the Chicago Bulls. Earlier this season, New Jersey defeated the Bulls, 95-78, on December 23, 2003 at the Meadowlands. The teams will play again on March 23rd at the United Center.
