=== New York Knicks Team Report - March 30 ===

(Basketball News) - The Knicks tallied a huge 92-91 win over the Portland Trail Blazers at Madison Square Garden Monday night.

Tim Thomas returned from a groin injury to score a game-high 26 points, as the Knicks registered the win. Stephon Marbury contributed 23 points, eight assists and seven rebounds for New York, which remained in seventh place in the Eastern Conference. The Knicks are one-half game ahead of Boston, which won Monday at New Jersey.

Nazr Mohammed grabbed a game-high 13 rebounds as New York held a 40-36 edge on the boards.

The Knicks grabbed their first lead of the contest at 83-82 when Kurt Thomas nailed a 10-foot jumper with 3:40 remaining. However, the game see-sawed back and forth from there.

Portland jumped ahead 89-87 with 1:39 left to play, but Marbury answered with three free throws after being fouled shooting a three-pointer. New York gained a one-point advantage that it wouldn’t relinquish.

The Knicks again played without guards Allan Houston and Anfernee Hardaway due to injuries. It is unknown when the duo will return to the court.

New York has the next three days off before facing the New Jersey Nets at Continental Airlines Arena Friday. The Knicks have their next three contests on the road.
