=== New York Knicks Team Report - March 7 ===

(Basketball News) - The Knicks got back on the winning track on Sunday night, posting a 115-99 victory over the Golden State Warriors at Madison Square Garden.

Stephon Marbury poured in 26 points and handed out a season-high 16 assists to pace the Knicks to the win. Tim Thomas contributed 25 points and eight rebounds for the Knicks, who have won four of their last five games.

Mike Sweetney tied a season-high with 19 points, although 18 came in the first quarter, in the win. Maurice Taylor had a good game off the bench with 15 points and five rebounds.

The Knicks shot an eye-popping 61.7 percent from the field, including 5-of-12 (.417) from three-point range. New York hit 16-of-22 (.727) from the free throw line.

New York led 83-77 after three quarters, but Mike Dunleavy’s turnaround jumper with a little more than nine minutes remaining trimmed the gap to two. Jason Richardson then drained a three with 7:56 left and it staked the Warriors to a 91-90 lead.

Trailing 93-92 moments later, the Knicks seized the lead for good as they ran off eight straight points and 21 of the next 22 to turn the game into a laugher.

The Knicks snapped a four-game losing streak in the series and also won for the first time against Golden State in the last four matchups at MSG.

New York is currently tied for 14th in the league in scoring (96.9 ppg), while ranking 21st in points allowed per game (99.6). The Knicks own the 23rd-best point differential (-2.7) in the league.

New York, which opened up a four-game homestand, has captured six straight games in its building. The Knicks will continue their homestand against the Washington Wizards on Tuesday. New York will have the following four days off before hosting Seattle on Sunday.
