Nuggets’ Hodge has bullet fragment removed

07.8.2006

Denver, CO (Basketball News) - Denver Nuggets guard Julius Hodge had minor surgery Friday to have a bullet fragment removed from his left thigh.

Hodge, who is expected to resume working out in a week, continues to recover from being shot in his left leg on April 8.

The Adams County Sheriff’s Office said Hodge was driving along Interstate 76 at about 2:00 a.m. after reportedly leaving a nightclub, when someone inside another vehicle started shooting. Hodge was hit in his lower extremities and taken to a local hospital by another motorist. A motive has yet to be determined and there have been no charges.

Hodge was the 20th overall pick of the 2005 NBA Draft. He has spent time in the NBA’s Developmental League and in 14 games with the Nuggets during his rookie season averaged 0.9 points and 0.5 rebounds.
